Gabriel and I gave a presentation (followed by a book signing) for the Lopez Island Historical Society this weekend. We sold every copy of my book that we had brought with us! The Lopez bookshop said they'd already sold out of the supply they had ordered, and would be ordering more On the trip up to Lopez, I kept telling Gabriel we needed to get someone to take pictures of the historical society event - but unfortunately, in the frenzy of the event itself, we only managed to get a couple pictures at the very end (phooey!) I'll make sure the next book signing is better documented. In the meantime though, enjoy the pictures of the rest of the Lopez trip!

While we were on Lopez, we couldn't resist a trip out to Shark Reef. (We had gone out there years ago, when we first got engaged.) The place name comes from a local legend told by the local fishermen. Apparently back in the early days of settlement, a shark was caught there that was the biggest one anyone present had ever seen. These days it's more common to see seals there! They like to sun themselves on the rocks - but they were being shy this time.
